Our buddies from Horror Movies report that Paramount has just announced that Brad Anderson is set to helm "The Crazies" remake.
Scott Kosar who recently penned the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Amityville Horror" remakes will also lend his skills to "The Crazies. Penn Station principals Michael Aguilar and Dean Georgaris are producing and Romero, who directed and co-wrote the original pic with Paul McCollough, is exec producing.
The original George A. Romero movie was released in 1972. It told the story of a government plane carrying a biological warfare virus and crashing near the small Pennsylvania town of Evans City. The virus finds its way into the town’s drinking water, turning everyone who comes in contact with it into a murderous lunatic.
