Bad News from director Tom MillanPosted by:This is videographer Tom Millan. I got some bad news- very bad news. There was a lethal and damaging fire in one of Edmonton's oldest buildings which was a landmark of the city. Acouple friends of mine who are writers and artist painters lived there.
Tom Eisner was one of them. He had a whole bunch of stories of mine. He also had abunch of my story boards, scripts and master copies of alot of my films. When I took a 2 year absence from writing, directing, drawing or acting, Tom wanted to paint and distribute my work. Tom is a painter of extremely dark and surreal proportions. He had his own little studio. His work curtails (I hope I spelled that word correctly) images of HP Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe. He did alot of the artwork in "The Other Face" and its almost completed sequel "Red Snake" which he wrote and directed. Myself and Monica Cannon produced the film. Abunch of my movies, master copies, were burned in the blaze. Tom's paintings and even sculptures were also destroyed. Here is a list of the films that perished in the fire. "The Other Face" ("Blue Window 2"), "Red Snake" ("Blue Window 3"), "Horse Language", "2 Gross a Total" ("Gross Total 2"), "The Grossest Possible Total" ("Gross Total 3"), "Silent Mike" ("Gross Total" spinoff), "The Road's Most Wanted", "Moss Green", "A Web Of Kills" a.k.a: "The Hiding", "Red Ice Maximum" and finally, "Lots and Lots Of Dead People". Most of these films were completed and in sound editing stages. This is truly a painstaking experience. So, I'm going to only re-edit one movie which caters to the artistic side of a dark future- "Green Frost". I'm so devastated by the fire that I feel like retiring. The stress is overwhelming. Alot of my work is now gone and I have to live with it. My heart goes out to all the residents that lost a lot from the fire and I'm glad that nobody was hurt. Take It Easy. Tom Millan These are very bad news indeed. Our thoughts go to all those affected by the fire. We also hope to read more of you in the future Tom, so keep those emails coming ;). |
