Star Wars Clone Wars Review

As you regulars know I have been looking for some good anime to watch and finally found one this weekend that I really enjoyed. Star Wars Clone Wars Volume 1 on dvd. It feeds my need for JEDI as well as anime. This animated movie which I just picked up is what we all hoped that the last 2 star wars movies would be. Action, great story telling and fast moving. Presented in just over one hour in a nice tight movie format Star Wars Clone Wars Volume 1 is just plain fantastic.

The movie has your expected THX from Lucas and a very unique animation style that makes for great entertainment. This movie is based between Star Wars Episode 2 and Episode 3 : Revenge of the Sith.  The Republics clone armies led by the Jedi are knee deep in trouble and massive warfare with the Sith led by Count Dooku.

You get to see battles and confrontations that take place across the star wars galaxy. Their is a wide variety of Jedi's and some pretty cool and unique weaponry. Although it is an animated film it does stay true to the characters of the movie and you do get the feeling that Lucas definitely kept control of how the film developed.

I liked that in the film it was not catering to children. They were not afraid to kill more then just droids. Although it was done tastefully during the Clone Wars the Jedi were wiped out and we do need to see that to get ourselves truly immersed in the plight of the war and the Jedi. Their is plenty of tragic deaths and Jedi falling to the Sith Armies, but it is done in a fashion that I think kids and adults can enjoy.

Although at some points the film does get somewhat repetitive it is still the best animated film I have picked up yet. If you are looking for plenty of action, and appreciate animated films then this one is most certainly for you. I give this movie an 8/10. On a complete side note if you know of other Star Wars animated film drop me a line, I would like to know so I can go and check them out and feed my need for Jedi!
