Undead directors talk Daybreakers

The Australian writers and directors of "Undead", Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, talked to NowPlaying about their newest project, a Vampire movie called "Daybreakers". Allthough the script isn't completelly finished, it is already sold to Lions Gate. Now the brothers finished the newest draft for their Vampire movie.

"We just finished the next draft for Daybreakers and are about to deliver it to Lions Gate. Everyone’s very excited about it. The film is much darker and far more serious than Undead. It’s about a world dominated by vampires."

Peter Spierig already told in an earlier interview, that the film is much darker and far more serious than "Undead", and they again confirm, that "Daybreakers" will be different to other Vampire films.

"The vampires have tried to continue their lives as normal people. Human beings are on the brink of extinction and it's just a matter of time before the entire human population is wiped out. Vampires will suffer an eternity of starvation and madness if they can't find an alternative to human blood, but one man discovers a solution that will save the vampire race – they must become human again."

I really liked "Undead", they did an amazing job with their Zombie movie and i'm very curious to see how they will deal with the Vampire genre.
