Saw 2 - Bousman officially confirmed as director

Lions Gate Films and Twisted Pictures, now officially announced that Darren Lynn Bousman will direct "Saw 2", the sequel to James Wan's "Saw". Bousman also wrote the original screenplay for the movie, together with Leigh Whannel, the writer/co-star of the original "Saw," and James Wan.

As we reported earlier, the movie will be shot in Toronto. The filming is scheduled to begin May 5th, 2005. The movie will be produced Gregg Hoffman, Oren Koules and Mark Burg, and the executive producers are Kames Wan and Leigh Whannel.

The sequel to the surprise hit Thriller movie "Saw" is scheduled for a release end of October 2005.

According to scooper MP, "Saw 2" will begin from the ending of the first movie. The jigsaw puzzle killer is back on the streets and the murders are assured to be more horrific,more creative,and even more sadistic than those in the first. Only in the sequel the killer pins family members against each other as a test of how much they really love each other.

Take it with a grain of salt, since the storyline has not been officially confirmed yet. At this time, there is also no confirmed news about the cast of the movie.
