Paul W.S. Anderson lines up Deathrace 3000

Paul W.S. Anderson will write and direct Paramount's Deathrace 3000," a remake of the cult Roger Corman pic "Deathrace 2000.". The deal now has viacom talking about doing a video game to go with the new movie.

The original movie is an absolute classic movie which throws the muscle bound Sylvester Stallone against David Carradine in a race where you get points for maiming and killing pedestrians. Warped? Yes. Not for the kids? Definitely not! Campy and great film? Hell yes! If you liked Mad Max you will love Death Race 2000 and my hopes are that Death Race 3000 does equally well. When Anderson was working on Mortal Kombat he thought about doing Death Race 3000 but it never happened. When asked about the project Anderson said:

"Films I've written to direct have always been very quick transitions to production, and I expect this one to do the same, 'Deathrace' will kick ass."

Bring on the carnage I say!
