Sony picking up Marvels Killraven

According to the fine folks at variety Sony pictures is in the final stretch to pick up Marvels Killraven. A sci-fi comic that will no doubt allow Sony to continue its super hero adventures once spiderman is done with.

Killraven is Set in the future where mankind has been enslaved by an alien race and struggles for survival. The Killraven storyline follows a man who is born in captivity and fights through gladiatorial battles to become the leader of a group of revolutionaries called the Freemen. Then like SPARTACUS the  warrior-slaves unite in an attempt to drive the invaders off the Earth.

Sony is in talks with playwright Robert Schenkkan to write the script. Sony is well known for grabbing award winning actors to write scripts for them. Case and point being Spider Man 2. It works and it gives us a great movie with depth. I think we can expect another great Super Hero flick from Sony if all goes as planned.
