Matrix Online Video Game Cometh!

Tom Ragaini, lead designer for the upcoming Matrix Online game, told SCI FI Wire that he had the idea for the game as early as summer 2001.

"I had written the proposal for a game that would become The Matrix Online," Ragaini said in an interview. "And the Wachowski brothers [creators of the Matrix movies] received the proposal. It turns out that they had come up with a similar idea on their own and the synchronicity was immediately apparent."

Ragaini said that, from the beginning, The Matrix Online was going to be something different from a typical video game: the massively multiplayer online role-playing game would allow players to gain a sense of ownership in the Matrix universe.  The Matrix Online takes place chronologically after The Matrix film trilogy. The Matrix Online lets players support one of three sides -- Zion, the Machines and the Exiles -- and help determine the future of the Matrix itself.  To read more of this report head here
