David Duchovny big screen debut House of D

According to Yahoo News David Duchovny big screen debut as director is coming along well. I am a big fan of Davids and loved "House of D". In his upcoming film his wife Teo Leoni (yummy) plays his mother. Wierd to say the least. When asked about it David said:

"It never occurred to me, because it's kind of a coincidence. Then when somebody mentioned that, I go, `Well, that's funny. That's just funny. Yeah, that's funny,'"  "It was never intentional. You know, it's not like we ever share screen time where she's my mother. I think that would be weird if I actually treated her as my mother in the film,"  "Probably if that had been the case, she wouldn't have wanted to do it, and I might not have wanted her to do it, either."

House of D is set in Duchovny's boyhood haunts around Greenwich Village, "House of D" features the actor as a man looking back on a tragic time from his youth with his mother, who is paralyzed by grief over the death of her husband.

Anton Yelchin plays Duchovny's character at age 13, while Robin Williams co-stars as his best friend, a retarded school janitor who helps the boy make meat deliveries for a butcher shop. Robin Williams is such a talented actor and the fact he is in this film playing a new type of character makes me really want to see this film.

The singer Erykah Badu plays an incarcerated woman who becomes a surrogate mother figure for the boy through conversations they share, she from the bars of her cell above, he on the street below.  The movie sounds really deep and well done.

"House of D" opens in limited release April 15.
