Ferris Buellers Day Off sequel coming?

Who doesnt know Ferris Bueller's adventures, when he gives into an overwhelming urge to cut school and head for downtown Chicago with his girl and his best friend , to see the sights, experience a day of freedom and show that with a little ingenuity, a bit of courage and a red Ferrari.

Now there are again rumors that a sequel is being planned. According to HSX, Writer-Director John Hughes and star Matthew Broderick are rumored to be teaming up again for the sequel to 1986's classic rules-breaking, play-hooky-from-school-and-suffer-no-consequences comedy, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Ferris, now 15 years older and working at a large firm in Chicago, remains the rebel at heart, as he is bent on playing hooky again, this time from work.

I was a big fan of the original, but can this typical 80's comedy also work now? Maybe yes, maybe no. I definitely would watch it. But only if the original cast (Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara, Alan Ruck) is included.
