Uwe Boll Talks Future Projects

ZM: Have you ever considered remaking your older German films for an English speaking audience or do you think they should be appreciated as they are?

UB: Yes - my comedy the FIRST SEMESTER. But what I do instead is;: there will be a subtitled DVD Collection coming up with all BOLL GERMAN MOVIES.

ZM: Any plans on another zombie film in the future, one not related to a video game?

UB: In HUNTER THE ROCKONING we will have humans eating dead people

ZM: What does the future hold for you, do you plan on buying up even more video games rights or will you go back to creating new scripts?

UB: I will get more involved now in scriptwriting again. Too bad that the people in US are not buying enough HEART OF AMERICA DVD's. So everybody could see - that Ithis is a great movie

ZM: Whats the best piece of advice you would give to an aspiring film maker?

UB: Start making movies instead of talking about it. After a while you see the difference between reality and filmbooks.

ZM: Are you into David Hasselhoff's music?

UB: Yes. I'm a big fan of his movies and his songs. I have all BAYWATCH episodes on DVD and VHS. And I dont miss concerts from him.

ZM: What is your favorite curse/bad word?

UB: Sutchbulla , this I learned in RUMANIA. Find out on your own.

ZM: I would surely hope you have seen the Romero Trilogy (soon to be a quadrilogy), which one out of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead was your favorite?

UB: DAWN was the best

ZM: Why do you think House of the Dead was poorly reviewed?

UB: I still dont know. It is a great movie with great actors and characters and a story like DANCES WITH WOLVES

ZM: Uwe, is it true that Broadway is looking to produce a musical/horror based up the movie version of House of the Dead?

UB: Yes. And Mel Brooks will be the lead

ZM: As a foreigner in Hollywood how do you feel about the star system? Have you been treated differently and what are the most annoying things you have to deal with?

UB: I dont life in Hollywood and I meet actors only if I want this actor in my movie.

ZM: Whats your take on IMDB(Internet Movie Database)? Don Furman recently said it had the potential to be the greatest tool for the film industry but that it was ruined by simple things like information not being checked.

UB: Could be. I was last week the highest rank director of the world. Great, what???? This is because everybody likes me so much.

ZM: Whats the first thing you do every day?

UB: Breakfast

ZM: What do you see as the future for the German film industry?

UB: I have no idea. I have nothing to do with the german film industry. I was always an outsider in germany, so also now in USA.

ZM: Uwe, based on your experience on House of the Dead where do you think the zombie genre is heading, and how do you think it will reach todays audience?

UB: A few zombie reinventend the genre like 28days later, RESIDENT EVIL and DAWN OF THE DEAD /the remake) , maybe HOD a little also - but maybe now it is over again

ZM: Is there anything you have turned down?

UB: No. I do all scripts I get on the table and all game propertys I buy also.
