The Thing Fest 2005 Movie Festival !

All you Canadians are in luck! You can attend a really cool screening of "The Thing" and top it all off by winning some great prizes. Does it get any better? I dont friggin think so. MacReady put me onto this movie a while ago and it is a great flick! I enjoy it immensely. Anyrate so here is what Todd had to say about The Thing Fest 2005.

Found your site just surfing, checked out the pages for THE THING.... Wanted to let you know I screen the film big screen every summer here in Canada in London, ON. This will be our 5th year and now it is a growing fan festival. Props, prizes, After-Party... Maybe you can post this as news for THE THING.

I dont know about the rest of you but I may have to attend this thing. Assuming of course I actually remember. Todd you might have to give me some gentle reminders. So check them out and if your a fan of the Thing this sounds like a great time.

The Thing-Fest 2005

John Carpenter's "The Thing" is both a remake of Howard Hawks' 1951 film of the same name and a re-adaptation of the John W. Campbell Jr. story "Who Goes There?" on which it was based. Carpenter's film is more faithful to Campbell's story than Hawks' version and also substantially more reliant on special effects, provided in abundance by a team of over 40 technicians, including veteran creature-effects artists Rob Bottin and Stan Winston.
