Sam Raimi's Next Project : Priest

This movie reminds me an awful lot of "The Wretched" which we have been featuring on site for quite some time in the overall tone of it. Sony's Screen Gems has bought the script for "Priest" which was written by Cory Goodman.
 
Not awhole hell of alot is known at this point accept for the fact that Sam Raimi is on board to produce the project through Ghost House Pictures. I just finished watching "The Grudge" and enjoyed it so I have faith Raimi can deliver a good film for us. Their is no director assigned but I am sure somebody good will get attached.
 
"Priest" is a Vampire Western. A warrior priest teams up with a local sheriff and a priestess to track down a group of vampires who have kidnapped the priests niece.
 
In case your wondering why I am comparing this to "The Wretched", it is because the movie is about a dude who hunts Zombies in a western atmosphere. You can read more about "The Wretched" (starring Chow Yun-Fat) here.
