Jimmy Olsen is NOT gay in Superman Returns

Today we were emailed by a reader asking if Jimmy Olsen in Superman Returns character will or will not be gay. An interesting question.  Early rumors from a draft script by JJ Abrams did have Jimmy Olsen as being gay, along with with a lot of "off the wall ideas" i.e.  "Arch-villian Lex Luthor initially working for the CIA, and suggests Superman's powers come from a red and blue battle-suit insetad of his alien physiology."
 
But there is a new script for the film that is currently being written and as far as I can tell, Jimmy Olsen "WILL NOT" be gay and the characters will pretty much stay true to form.
 
So for now you can rest easy - the last thing a studio want to do when re-launching a franchise is to get too wild with the characters or story.  There is speculation that the plot will revolve around Superman's battle with Lex Luthor and a mysterious killer from Krypton who has come to hunt down the Man of Steel.
