We had a chance to sit down and throw some question at Felissa Rose, if you dont know who that is you will know by the end of reading this interview. So without further ado here is said interview
Horror", "Satan’s Playground" and "The Ocean", all Dante Tomaselli films – are we beginning to see a pattern here?
Dante is an amazing director and I hope to continue this pattern. We met on his film, "Horror," and became great friends. We understand each other so our working relationship is easy. He's my dream director.
In Satan’s Playground, you play Donna – Paula’s sister (played by Ellen Sandweiss), can you give us any insight into your character? Tell us what Donna is all about?
It was great working with Ellen and our relationship was so similar to the characters. Donna loves her family (well, she could do without her husband-sorry Sal!) and has a lot of unhappiness which derives from a bad marriage and an autistic son. Thinking the "family trip" will help things along creates more controversy and what lies ahead is horrific for these people.
Donna pops a few pills, and has a bitchy side so it was fun exploring all angles. In rehearsal we figured it all out thanks to Dante. Hey, it's family shit, we've all been there!
How was your experience in working on the film and with Dante, Ellen, Edwin and the rest of the cast/crew?
Incredible. Great group and we're still hangin out whenever we get the chance. Well, I don't need to tell you that Edwin is a trip and a half. He's always creating voices and telling stories between takes so we pretty much forgot about how cold we were! Ellen was my partner in crime.
If we weren't getting into trouble back at the hotel we were telling secrets while the microphones were wired to our bodies. It was a fun group. Dante has a way of creating a close knit atmosphere so we felt like a family and enjoyed the work and the play.
Any interesting stories that might of happened on the set of Satan’s Playground that you would like to share? I’m sure you have a good Edwin Neal story.
My story with Ed is X rated so I cannot go there...... Actually, Ed and I had a crazy scene (the one with the knife) and we got so into the scene that we clocked heads after a huge day of shooting. I went off crying like a baby (hey, it was my character, not me!) When you're working with a pro like Ed, it's easy to lose yourself and get into the scene so much that shit happens and it becomes real. We're all fine and the film is better for it.
With Satan’s Playground, what can we expect to see? Can you sum up what you hope our experience will be?
Hopefully you'll lose yourself in the creepy and disturbed world that Dante made up for his audience. It's a journey and if you let yourself go I think you'll be incredibly captured and even jump in your seat a few times.
The atmosphere is fantastic and it has the "old school" horror movie feel to it. It's not a bunch of noxema teenagers running around, it's regular people who find themselves in a fucked up situation.
After such a long absence, how does it feel to finally get to play Angela again in the upcoming "Return to Sleepaway Camp" movie?
hahhaahaha, is this a trick question?? It was great being on that set and I'm not about to tell any secrets. Hope you like it.
Can you give us any insight into your character? Are you the "ghost from the past, that comes and haunts Ronnie?"
Ronnie is definitely tripping out after all these years and a bunch of crazy murders again. This one has a crazy twist, like the first, so it will be fun to hear what people think once it comes out.
What’s the latest news on the "Return to Sleepaway Camp" front? When can fans expect to see this film and in what form (Theatrical Release or DVD)?
They've been negotiating with distributors so I figure this year. For independent films it does take a long time to make the deal but I expect it will happen pretty soon.
Give us some "Felissa Rose Trivia". Tell us something we don’t know – it could be anything.
I'm working on a film right now called "Sludge" by Steve Taylor and I have the pleasure of working with the great Tiffany Shepis. She is one cool chick. We've become pretty close friends and that girl is a lot of fun!

What’s the one question (with answer) you wished somebody would of asked you, but never did?
Well, people always speculate that actors in horror films are stuck in the genre and are has beens or hacks once they've done something with a little success and I wish someone would ask if this is where I'd want to be?? The answer is yes. I never intended to be a Julia Roberts and I love making these horror films.
The people are the greatest, the stress level is none and I'm busy all the time. It's so easy to criticize actors for their choices but most of us are really happy and do what we love without any aggravation and without taking ourselves too seriously. I laugh at myself every chance I get and it's been a really cool ride.
I know that you are a huge horror fan, what are some of your favorite films and is there anything you are looking forward to seeing this year?
I just watched Saw and really enjoyed it. Very interesting and well made flick. I also saw Halloween 3 for the first time and loved it (nothing like the original, which I love, but cool movie.)
I love TCM and The Shining. I want to see Toolbox Murders and is there a Halloween 9 coming up??
Thank you again, for taking the time to do this interview. Lastly, is there anything else you would like to say, maybe to your fans or about "Satan’s Playground?"
Dante is an incredible director and won't let his audience down. It's a film for everyone and really delivers the goods. Just go check it out and have fun!!! And anyone who took the time to read this, thanks for reading my silly answers!
