Dawn of the Dead ComicPosted by:If you are a member of the community and do not worship George Romero I think we need to ask you to leave right now. Ok so im kidding :) But in all seriousness Geoge Romero is the king of Zombies, and coming in April we can all get our hot little hands on this great new comic book adaptation of his fantastic films.
George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead is a comic book adaptation of a classic horror movie that forced people to reexamine their whole concept of the zombie - from the vaguely Haitian, voodoo-related walking dead man, to a whole new breed of flesh-eating, terrifying monster. Written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Wake The Dead), with art by Chee (Wake The Dead), George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead turns the original chiller (not the brand-new remake) into an equally horrific comic. Steve Niles the writer of this series was approached by Mike Messina at New Amsterdam todo the comic book series. Steve Niles is quotted as saying
Steve Niles has made clear that his intent on this comic series is to bring more people to the Romero fan club and to introduce new audiences to his films. This is one reason I stand firmly behind this production and hope that it is a big success for all. If the comic is a success it means more zombie action for all of us fans, and it also means more movie sales for our friend George Romero. Steve can be noted for saying.
Mr Niles has indicated that George Romero is one of the biggest influences on him and that Romero films especially the Dead seris of films are the best uncompromising look at horror. I could not agre with him more. The artwork in this series looks outstanding and I am extremely excited to see when this hits the stores so we can all pick up a copy. George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead is a three issue miniseries, of 32 page, full color comic books, with a retail price of $3.99. The first issue is available in April, 2004, wherever comic books are sold or directly from IDW Publishing. You Can Buy George A. Romero's Dawn Of The Dead Comic Here |
