Alright Mortal Kombat fans, get ready for some "Devastation!" Moviehole has confirmed that the third installment to the Mortal Kombat series has finally gotten the "green light" to begin filming. Here's the latest scoop:
"Mortal Kombat: Devastation", will begin filming in May.
Essentially skipping over the events of the second film, "Devastation" reunites the cast of the original - Christopher Lambert as Rayden, Linden Ashby as Johnny Cage, Robin Shou as Liu Kang, Chris Casamassa as Scorpion with Talisa Soto and Sandra Hess in talks to reprise their roles as Kitana and Sonya Blade, respectively - with the remaining parts being cast as we speak.
The film is being devloped by Mink ["Into the Sun"] and Threshold Entertainment. The Asst.Producer is Neil James."
This is very cool, since the first film is a guilty pleasure of mine and it's good to see some of the actors from the orginal coming back. All I have to say is, "Flawless Victory!"
