No X Files 2 Movie

All you X Files fans, myself included must prepare for doom and gloom. Earlier in the week it was being reported that an X-Files 2 movie was in the works. The rumor was that the new film would have the original stars in it but would be more of a horror film then a sci-fi film.

Well it seems that Chris Carters agent has come out and said NAY NAY NAY. Not happening. Quotting Joblo who took an excerpt from TV Guide he said:

"There's nothing at the moment going on. There is no negotiation, there's no script written, there's nothing other than a desire for people to get together."

It is kind of muddled since USA Today quotted David Duchovny as saying

"It'll be a stand-alone horror movie, Mulder and Scully investigate one particular case that has nothing to do with alien life. It has to do with supernatural stuff."

I loved the original X-Files series before the cast shakeup and I also loved the movie. To me X-Files 2 with the original cast is a great idea! So for now let us toast the death of a great rumor and pray that at some point it comes to be true!
