Our scooper who sent us the news on the Resident Evil 3 script dropped us a line to tell us about a shelved script sitting in the vault waiting to be made... maybe. The movie is Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Here is what the scooper says:
Hi again, thought id let you know on some scripts that have been kept in the vault... Apparently because of the huge comic to fill boom that has occured there has been a few movies based on books that has been put back to a later date.
One of those is Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Apparently back in the 90's an idea was made to make this comical series of books into a movie, However they decided to make a computer game of it. And it became quiet successful. But apparently the first game that was based on one of the books was going to be the story for the Live Movie, Apparently the idea came about of making it a Monty Python style film, With the cast from Monty Python "See Life of Brian or Holy Grail" Apparently the idea could still be a possibility given the right director? Apparently Sir Ian Mckellen was thought of as the voice of Death.
Well thats all i can tell at moment but ill go searching for some of the older scripts that never got made.
It is interesting how ideas get shelved as new trends get pushed forward. As our scooper says in this case comics to film bumping out more traditional films. Hopefully this film makes its way out of the vault.
