Our friend Dave from Creature Corner, talked to his friend Vincent Guastini. If you don't know who he is, shame on you ! He's know for making really cool SFX, for movies like "Thinner", "Virus" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back". Vincent finished working on Brian Yuzna's new movie "Rottweiler"and told Dave about the Special Effects, working with Brain Yuzna and his next projects.
DD: What can you tell us about specific effects for the film?
VG: The animatronics was very complicated and very complex. And was co supervised by my animatronics partner Greg Ramoundos he sat down with me and I told him what Yuzna wanted and me and Greg went over the break down of exactly which puppet would do what. I also had animatronics expert and make-up artist Elvis Jones on my crew he was key to the construction of the Hero or walking Rottweiler, so was artist Paul Pistore who did most of the attack dog animatronics. The dog came out quite amazing, and I believe beat most other animatronic dogs that have been seen before......
DD: How was it working with Brian Yunza?
VG: Yuzna is a wonderful man, very funny and has a great dry sense of humor. As a director he seemed to take great care in what the dog looked like design wise. And Brian loves effects and gore. I know we shot some real great heart eating scenes of the dog really going in there and eating this human heart, so if that makes it into the film I’m sure fans will love that gory moment.....
