Rumors of a Land of the Dead Spin-offPosted by:There are many rumors circulating the web and we are going to keep posting them and keep hoping that whenever we see George Romeros name that it comes to fruition. George Romero is THE director of our generation, and he is finally getting his dues with Land of the Dead. From what we have heard Land of the Dead went well, and remember the rumors of him quitting are NOT true, or so we are told, as reported earlier.
With that all said the good news is that throughout the internet rumors circulate of a possible spin-off and continuation of his stories from where Land of the Dead leaves off. We are not going to speculate on the potential spin-off story, since it is far to early for us to get worked up on a spin off. We have done some looking into this and can not find any real solid proof of this fact. With Land of the Dead shooting complete, and the movie now heading to the editing room their is plenty of time for a possible spin-off. In the same breath some people are saying that Romero is to old to continue his story, and to that I say hog wash. If Mr. Romero feels fit to continue on the story I say bring it on! Nobody else does a great horror survival movie like Romero does, nobody even comes close to touching it. So to the rumors of a possible sequel to Land of the Dead we say wait for the man himself to announce it and keep your toes, fingers and appendages crossed. As well remember when Land of the Dead hits theatres to pull out your wallets, gather up your friends, rent a mini-bus if need be and get into the theatres! I know that I will be taking everyone I know to see it for two reasons. Number one if you really love a film maker you must watch their movies and suppport them with your dollars, and secondly if you want to see more movies hitting mainstream you need to be a part of the process by making sure the movies make money. Also dont forget that Romero is working on Diamond Dead, which is another movie we all need to keep our eyes on. You can check it out at www.diamonddead.com Be sure to register on their site and show your support for this project, all of the people involved are very cool. If you have something to share on Land of the Dead, Mr. Romero or Diamond Dead send it in. We will continue to speculate and post the news as it rolls in, and do our damn'est to keep Land of the Dead on the front burner here... if you are not a Romero fan, do some looking around, on our site, Bloody-Disgusting & Creature Corner ( both are fine sites ) and you will find that he is well worth checking out. Once you watch a Romero film you are hard pressed to not become a fan of his work.
