Dante Fishing for a Stellar Cast for The Ocean

Dante Tomaselli is a busy guy these days and is steadily feeding us tidbits, dare I say daily tidbits? His latest is a scoop that he is working on his cast for 'The Ocean'. Dante told me that Rose and Judith O'Dea (Night of the Living Dead) will have roles in The Ocean. He has also approached Jessica Harper and is going to send her a script. He is a huge fan of her doe-like, Alice-in-Wonderland-like performance in Suspiria - so it would be an honor to work with her in The Ocean, he says. We know that Jessica has shown interest and can confirm she will be looking at the script. Lets see where it goes.

Jessica Harper has been in tons of movies and tv appearances. She was in Minority Report (as Anna Lively), and has been in a couple of Woody Allen movies, she was in Suspiria and other Argento films, and has a career that spans back to the 70's. Most notably she was on an episode of Hawaii Five-O (show rocks!!!) and was in The Phantom of the Paradise. I have great respect for Dante since he is using much overlooked talent that those of us who love cult films can appreciate. It shows quite clearly that Dante is a movie lover as well as a director.

In "The Ocean", itâ€™s about supernatural riptides terrorizing a coastal community. Expect plenty of drownings, possessions, and spooky haunted house scenarios. Dante is writing the script and designing the soundtrack right now. Dante is planning on shooting The Ocean in the summer of 2005.

Felissa Rose plays a religious woman haunted by the drowning deaths of her husband and son. She inherits a mansion overlooking the crashing surf. Itâ€™s a dreamy, disturbing horror film with chills galore. Sounds good, we know :) Be sure and check out Dante's other film Satans Playground
