Offering free music, free movies, and free downloads has increased web traffic exponentially for independent filmmaker Peter John Ross and his site Sonnyboo.com. With over 100 forms, 50 online videos, 25 articles for beginning filmmakers, and 20 songs made available to the public for free, Sonnyboo.com has become one of the most recognized sites for free resources and entertainment. "Sonnyboo.com has a lot of valuable downloads and info", says Philip Hodges, from the radio show DVGUYS. "I send people to that site all the time for free stuff." In 2004, Sonnyboo.com has added more music, completely royalty free for any usage in video games, shorts, feature films, and any multimedia use. The music, written & performed by Peter John Ross of Sonnyboo.com, has been used with movies worldwide from the 48 Hour Film Project in several cities, Kevin Spacey’s Triggerstreet.com, and even in political ads for the heated 2004 elections.

Also added are over 100 free forms and documents for multimedia including storyboard templates, non-disclosure agreements, Option & purchase agreements, location agreements, screenwriting templates, and also free images such as the "laurel leaves" for official selections and awards. Putting all these resources in one place has solidified Sonnyboo.com as one of the greatest sites on the web for moviemakers, big and small. When asked why give away everything for free, Peter John Ross responds, "The whole appeal of the Internet was originally to get free stuff. The World Wide Web turned into a giant advertisement with banner ads, pop ups, and Spam. That’s why Napster and Morpheus became so huge. I wanted Sonnyboo.com to continue to offer something to people for free – no ads, no registration. It’s worth more to me to have a thousand new viewers than ten to fifteen dollars in revenue. " The Movie section contains over 50 shorts and videos, not surprisingly, for free. Several of the award-winning shorts have played at film festivals worldwide in 2004. Four short films are official selections to this January’s first Central Nebraska Film Festival, the first of it’s kind in the state. On January 2nd-5th 2005, the UK’s channel 3BTV.COM will host four consecutive days of nothing but Sonnyboo short films as official "Sonnyboo Days".

The full broadcast will be streamed online 24 hours a day for the duration. Also in January 2005, Movieola the Short Film Channel will also broadcast several Sonnyboo produced short films as they enter the U.S. airwaves as the first exclusive short film channel on satellite and cable networks. Maintaining a strong presence online with short form entertainment, movies produced by Peter John Ross have made it onto new short films sites such as Germany’s InFilm.net and the new GuerillaFlics.com, as well as the unlikely site of an online shopping mall called RainyDayMall.com that has streamed three Sonnyboo titles. About award winning filmmaker Peter John Ross & Sonnyboo Productions – Microcinema Magazine says, "Ross will remain one of the all-time innovative leaders in the Microcinema movement." Projects directed by Peter John Ross have been broadcast on Bravo UK, Tech TV, National Lampoon Networks, & Movieola the short film channel. Peter John Ross & Sonnyboo films have been noted in such publications as Computer Arts, RES Magazine, Ain’t It Cool News, Camcorder & Computer Video magazine, Film & Video Magazine, LA Weekly, Film Threat, the Village Voice, & Internet Video Magazine.
