Producer Gregg Hoffman Talks Saw 2 Movie Script

Gregg Hoffman, producer of "Saw", said in an interview with The Age, that Lions Gate Films is currently working on the script for "Saw 2".  The movie will be based largely on an unrelated horror script his company, Evolution Entertainment, bought from another script writer.

Jigsaw, the central character in the original will be written into the script. Director James Wan, and screenwriter Leigh Whannell, who worked on the first movie, have said they will likely only executiv produce on SAW 2, due to new projects.

Hoffman said:

"The boys are attached as executive producers and we'll deal with that in the next few weeks in terms of their involvement and who is going to be directing."

The producer also said, that some characters are coming back, and some aren't. Most of the characters are brand new, but there's a couple of people coming back. Hoffman added that

"obviously Jigsaw is. Beyond that you will have to just wait and see."

The movie is scheduled for a release on the 28th of October 2005.
