Uwe Boll Once Again attacking Fans!

So I ask myself, is Uwe Boll an idiot? Everytime somebody says anything bad about one of his movies he goes on an endless rant of how stupid the fans are, how we should worship every aspect of him and be good diligent and silent movie goers. Well his movie Alone in the Dark was reviewed recently and it wasnt a good one. So Uwe did what he does best and went off on a tyrade.

Oh dear lord where do I begin.
I just got back from a test screening of Alone in the Dark, the latest crap-fest from Uwe Boll. This is quite possibly the worst film I've seen period and I used to work for Troma. Now once again we have a video game movie that completely throws out everything that made the game great. They take a game that was a very atmospheric story, and load it with guns, and Aliens style action. I'm not going into what's wrong with the film cause that would take way too long, suffice as to say that everything is wrong with this film. This film was manic from point A to Z, it starts with a high action chase scene/kung fu fight, then it trys to be creepy and then into an Aliens style gun fest. On top of that they randomly added zombies and aliens! Frankly that new Burger King ad with the guy in the Burger King costume is much more frightening, I'd be scared if I woke up with that staring at me. What's worse was that myself and a friend were selected for a focus group. If you ever thought that a focus group was for making a flawed film better, flush that notion down the toilet, when they found out that we rated the film poor we were not allowed to take part in the focus group, the screening people then ran franticly around trying to find anyone who thought this movie was anything above fair. On a lighter note Uwe Boll was in attendance, while we were waiting for my friends ride he exited the theater where we thanked him for that "piece of crap film" and for "killing our childhood".

And then to top it all of UWE did what he does best and went on a damn rant about the film and the fans.Uwe Boll talking to IGN went on a rant about "stupid fans" and "stupid websites that comment on movies". Here is an excerpt of that conversation.

Look, it's hard enough in the Hollywood studio system, that people are not getting it, how powerful videogames are. It's hard enough to convince people in the studio to make a big release for a movie. So right now we have two majors [who] want to do it and we have to figure out this week who's doing Alone in the Dark, who's doing the release. The main point for me is, the same people writing that s**t on the Internet, these are the people that should be happy that someone is doing it, because the studio [doesn't] give a s**t, they would do only Erin Brockovich movies mixed with Van Helsing.

You see all the comic book movies, yeah this is what the studio executives are "getting." 'Oh, I know it, because I read it 25 years ago.' But videogames, they have no lobbyâ€¦ We have that great new thing in the marketâ€¦ That videogames are the best selling books of the younger generation, videogames are also influencing the whole entertainment industry, but it's not true. It's infiltrating, it has a connection to, like, us, but it has no connection to the studio people. They didn't even know what Alone in the Dark isâ€¦ What I don't get, what the strategy of these geeks is. I tried to be in a dialogue with the guyâ€¦ Right now, here online, AntoFreden, BobaFett38, FatGuy2, Melon5555. These are all people, they are online for horror [and] zombie forumsâ€¦ They are in contact with me, they are emailing with me.

They are on my buddy list. I try to be in a dialogue with these guys because I am interested what the fans think. But what I really want, because other directors are not doing it this way, but what I really want is, really before they write bulls**t, they should think a little about it, they should look out in the theater. There were 280 people in the test screening and only these five idiots think it's a bad movieâ€¦

So does anyone else wonder at this point why the MPAA is worried about pirates? I mean we hate pirates, but in my thinking idiots like this director are hurting the movie industry more then any pirate is.
