Judge Dredd Remake, New Title, Plot, Cast Grows

Just a few weeks ago we told you that Karl Urban was slated to star in an upcoming Judge Dredd remake and things have really been progressing along quickly. Olivia Thirlby who starred in JUNO has been cast to star alongside Karl Urban as Judge Anderson.

Currently IM Global is at TIFF trying to sell the film for DNA Films and from that we get ourselves the new title which is DREDD and a synposis;

Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. I honestly enjoyed the original film for all its b-movie corniness but can understand why diehard fans despised the film. DNA Films who are responsible for Danny Boyles 28 Days Later and Sunshine will do a fantastic job I am sure at bringing the project to life which the producers have said will be true to the comics and not a hollywood cliche like the first film which starred Diane Lane and Sylvester Stallone.
