Joss Whedon Directing Avengers Movie?

WOW! Really I can not think of a better choice to direct the upcoming Avengers movie then Joss Whedon and it seems it may just happen. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Joss Whedon is working to finalize a deal with the studio to direct the project.

Joss Whedon did Buffy but the project that really put him on the charts with me was Firefly. A great scifi action tv series with wit, humor and complex characters. Here is hoping he gets Avengers and brings that to it.
