The Many Faces of Corey Haim

Posted by: Michael

Corey Haim was a huge name with cult film fans and a talent that left us to early. His life was troubled and people seem to have thrown him away as a joke and a punchline in his later years but regardless Corey Haim had immense talent and had many faces in Hollywood as an actor many of which were very memorable. This is a look at just a few of his key roles as an actor and the Many Faces of Corey Haim may he RIP!

Silver Bullet:  Co starring Gary Busey this was the first big role for Corey Haim that really put him on the map. The film tells the story of a boy ( played by Haim ) who is confined to a wheel chair and with the help of his sister and his uncle he must fight a werewolf that is on the loose in his small town. A cult classic its considered one of the best werewolf movies ever made. A must see for fans of horror!

Lucas: Lucas is a coming of age tale where Corey Haim plays a goofy kid in highschool who has to face the challenges of not only being an ackward teen but his evolving friendships. His life is turned upside down not just by the drama in school but by the new romance between his two best friends one a boy who is like a brother and another a girl who he loves. A charming teen love story with plenty of angst for teens to relate to.

The Lost Boys: The Lost Boys is without a doubt one of Corey Haim’s greatest roles. Featuring ‘The Two Coreys’ which is a saying that makes me want to barf The Lost Boys is easily one of the coolest vampire tales ever told. A young boy played by Haim has his entire family move to a small town to start a new life only to discover their is evil a foot in the form of vampires. Haim’s character teams up with a local comic book store employee played by Corey Feldman to take on the undead suckheads. Easily one of my favourite vampire films and a film that really showed how much talent Haim had despite his detractors later in life.

Crank high voltage: I passed on Crank High Voltage after how bad the first one was but Corey Haim had a small role in the film. I cant really elaborate on the role since as noted I did not see the movie but it was one of his last roles in a major movie production before his passing. Just for nostalgia factor I will be renting this movie soon.

Lost Boys The Tribe: Lost Boys 2 the Tribe is a complete insult to the original movie. Not to rag on Corey Feldman but his stupid wig was only as bad as his stupid ‘tough guy’ grunting voice throughout the entire film. This movie is the kind of film that makes for a better coffee coaster then a film experience accept for one small detail... the cameo at the end. Corey Haim was cut from the film but had a really cool cameo at the end of the movie which upstaged the entire film. Corey Haim delivered and redeemed anotherwise terrible film with a really cool cameo that made me grin. Watch it below.

Rest in Piece Corey Haim you were a great talent that was taken from us far to early. You will be remembered by hundreds of thousands of fans and this fan hopes you find piece in the afterlife wherever you are. RIP!
