Sasha Grey Becomes Anti-Sex Christian

In what can only be described as twistedly brilliant casting, adult film performer-turned-mainstream actress Sasha Grey has attached to the upcoming horror film "Hallows," playing the role of Eve, a Bible-wielding teen who takes a Jonas brother-style "purity pledge," refusing to have sex before marriage. "We toyed with offering Sasha another--sexier--role in the film," says Writer/Producer/Director Richard O'Sullivan. "But she fell in love with the idea of playing against type, portraying the exact opposite of what the public perceives her to be." The twenty-two-year-old Grey, who won rave reviews last year for her lead performance in "The Girlfriend Experience" (directed by Oscar-winner Steven Soderbergh of "Traffic" and "Ocean's Eleven" fame), first gained show biz noteriety as a porn star, then as a fashion model for American Apparel.

She has quickly earned a reputation as "the thinking man's sex symbol." "It's not what you would expect from Sasha," says Producer John Edmonds Kozma. "That's what makes her such an interesting talent. She's more about the different layers and the subtext than just playing a stock character that maintains the status quo. That she's interested in exploring these hidden sectors says a lot about her depth as an actress." Furthering the topsy-turvy approach, "Hallows," producers have announced another signing that may prove to be just as controversial as casting Grey as a virgin. Playing the role of Amber, a heavily pierced and tattooed goth girl with a fondness for S&M, will be Christina Cupo, an actress best known for her work in the growing Christian film community, where she appeared in such faith-based projects as "Praise Band" and "Much Ado About Middle School."
