The Mask of Zorro Comes to Bluray

The revered black-masked bandit goes blu when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment releases the high-definition Blu-ray Discâ„¢ of The Mask of Zorro on December 1, 2009 for an SRP of $24.95.   Expert action director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) shepherds this incarnation of the Machiavellian marauder that stars Antonio Banderas (Evita, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) and Academy Award® winners Catherine Zeta Jones (Academy Award® for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Chicago, 2002) and Anthony Hopkins (Academy Award® for Best Actor in a Leading Role, The Silence of the Lambs, 1991).   Additionally, this brand new Blu-ray will be available in a two-disc box set with the previously released Blu-rayâ„¢ Disc of The Legend of Zorro for an SRP of $49.95.

Twenty years have passed since Don Diego de la Vega (Hopkins) stopped tyrannical officials from taking over colonial Spanish land as the legendary hero Zorro.  When a new tyrant plots to buy California and enslave the populous, De la Vega chooses bandit Alejandro Murietta (Banderas) as his successor and transforms him into a fearless fighter.  Armed with sword, whip, mask and the jet-black stallion, Tornado, the new Zorro must defeat the detractors and settle old scores of his own.
