Antonio Banderas Talks Shrek 4, Puss N Boots

I interviewed Antonio Banderas yesterday for his new film, The Other Man, in which he stars opposite Laura Linney and Liam Neeson. We asked him about Shrek 4 and here's what he had to say.

Q: What can you tell people about the Shrek 4 movie?

Antonio: It’s almost ready. Jeffrey (Katzenberg) called me yesterday actually and he said they were going to watch it this morning and then the Puss ‘n’ boots story is there, they allowed me finally to read the script and it’s fantastic. Selma Hayek is going to be attached to it.

Q: Do you know when you’re doing that one?

Antonio: I suppose we’ll start recording probably February. It may happen the same thing that happened with my first Shrek, that I am in the theatre and I have to go to recording and do strange noises in the morning, singing in the afternoon, but it’s totally ready.

Q: How would you compare the fourth one to the first three?

Antonio: It’s totally different. Totally different, I cannot reveal to you the whole of it. Something happens at the beginning of the story that changes the identity of all the characters, so it’s almost like a new movie. The characters are different physically, you’ll see.

The character of Puss in Boots was so well recieved by audiences of Shrek 2 that Dream Works have also decided to make his own movie it will focus on Pusses swashbuckling adventures. More as we get it.
