Review of Redemption, a Sean Reid Movie

Posted by:
Not since Less Than Zero has a film poignantly revealed the tragedy of idle youth of the privileged class in Los Angeles. These beautiful people wrestle with their place in a world that does not seem to require their services. They have more opportunity than their parents but do not seem to see how they can build on the work of the last generation. The film leads us through their disconnected lives as they struggle to connect to anything, including drugs. The script is a tad on the self-indulgent side, but the acting by the cast rises above the heavy script.

Two performances are worth noting. The character, Claire acts as both shaman of Christian's journey and his examiner. She sheds light on paths and throws obstacles to test his character and will. Ultimately, he fails. Claire is subtly and brilliantly played by Tracey Stone. Tracey makes the viewer feel her trusting vulnerability and uncompromising strength. She comes off sweet, intelligent, and sexy. In fact, the love scene between Tracey Stone and Brian J. White is more steamy than anything I have ever seen before. It tops famous love scenes from The Big Easy, 9 ½ Weeks, and Top Gun combined.

Scottie Tate, the actor who played the delicious cad, Marlon brought perspective and humor to the role and left me wanting more. He was a joy to watch.

In all, this is a film worth watching. Keep an eye on Tracey Stone and Scottie Tate. I believe we will be seeing more of them in the future
