Bryan Singer to Direct Battlestar Galactica Movie?

Battlestar Galactica was a great series .. at least until the end where it kind of got off track for me. one of the things I really enjoy about the show is the mini-movies they released tied to the show that revealed missing pieces. Films like RAZOR and Caprica. Now from HITFIX comes word that Universal is interested in doing a feature film.

Whats more they want Bryan Singer ( X-Men, Usual Suspects ) to both produce and direct the project. For me it could work but it will also introduce alot of problems. The show is incredibly popular so Bryan Singer will not have much leeway on changing it and I am not sure what director wants a project where the path is laid out so straight for him. Not alot of freedom to deviate without angering us fans. We will see where this goes.
