John Campea's The Anniversary TrailerPosted by: MichaelJohn Campea is a friend of mine who runs a film blog and recently decided blogging was for wussies and dived head long into making his first feature film The Anniversary. He has already done a documentary called Prince of Peace God of War which was a great first stab that had early signs of his talents.. while still having some holes in his style that needed addressing. Like any good filmmaker he took my criticisms as they were intended and improved his game... and now he has arrived with his first feature film shot on a shoestring budget; The Anniversary. The film was made for $50k and pieced together with lots of heart, and not alot of knowledge of filmmaking. As his friend I am also his most honest critic because anything else would be doing him and our readers a disservice. I have not seen his new film The Anniversary but I have watched the trailer, and you can to below. I can tell you it truly is one of the better indie movie trailers I have watched in awhile. Its a fantastic trailer that defies its $50,000 budget and shows that when you have heart and passions for the art of film, experience in filmmaking is secondary. It reminds me of the early Kevin Smith films and I think clearly shows an underlying talent for story telling and filmmaking which with time can be developed into something truly fantastic. I look forward to reviewing the film and giving you all my honest take on it.. good or bad but as it stands the trailer impressed the hell out of me. No release date has been set for the film! Watch the trailer below and leave some feedback. And yes.. it was really made for $50,000.
