A big part of our site is much more then just reading our critics reviews but also putting keyboard to page and sharing your own reviews. Although both our critics Matthew and The Dude loved the new Harry Potter film it seems most fans do not. As of this morning we have 15 reviews for the film and it has a very low approval rating of just 47.33%. I of course encourage those of you who have seen it to submit your own reviews.

In “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” Lord Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and Wizard worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but ...
Matthew our new film critic in NY writes in a glowing review of the film;
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince mixes equal parts impending doom with a few lighthearted moments, the likes of which have been sorely missed from the past few films. With side plots following Quidditch trials and teen love triangles there are some genuinely comedic moments which have always been high points for actor Rupert Grint, and in this latest film the script keeps him playing his strengths. Whereas in previous films Ron and Hermione were Harry’s perpetual wingmen through all dangers and perils, here the side characters stick to side plots.
They play out their love triangles and Grint makes an admirable display of comic relief, but when it comes down to plot progression it’s all Harry and Dumbledore making plans, Harry and Dumbledore watching old memories, Harry and Dumbledore drinking poison. Certainly there’s nothing wrong with that, Dumbledore becomes a much more important character than he was in previous films, but it rings a bit hollow when, in the final scene, Hermoine tells Harry that the only way he’s going to make it through the next two films is with her and Ron’s help. And our critic in LA The Dude writes in his review;
If you're a Harry Potter fan (or "POTHEAD" for short) you probably know how you feel about this movie before you've seen a single frame of film. Same goes if you're not a fan. Boiled down, you know what you're getting yourself into when you watch one of these movies, and if you're a fan, you can gripe all you want about what's been left on the cutting room floor, but you acknowledge the fact that it's still a well-made film.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the sixth installment of the Harry Potter franchise, once again delivers a tale that's way too sprawling for a single motion picture experience. for those who like ranking the films amongst themselves, I'd say this is the 2 or 3 on my list. (Prisoner of Azkaban gets the pass, from almost everybody, I believe, as the best film in the series). [ read the entire review ]
