Michael Jacksons Public Memorial Service Details

The Michael Jackson Public Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, California and simulcast inside to Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE across the street.   There is a lottery set up for Michael Jackson fans to obtain a limited number of free tickets for both venues by sign up on the Staples Center website (www.staplescenter.com) for the random drawing. 

The opportunity to register for tickets begins at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, July 3, 2009 and ends at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, July 4, 2009.   17,500 tickets are available for the event -- 11,000 for Staples Center and 6,500 for Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE -- and will be distributed 2 per person. If you are one of the 8,750 people selected, you will then be alerted on Sunday with further instructions.  

Registering to attend the Public Memorial Service is NOT a guarantee of tickets. The offer is only valid to residents of the United States. Two tickets will be issued to each randomly selected attendee. At the moment, it's unclear if Michael's body will be at the memorial.
