I saw Let The Right One In based off feedback from readers and friends who told me the film is absolutely amazing. I was not at all dissapointed. I was however upset to hear that Hollywood had decided to remake the swiss vampire flick. Matt Reeves the director of Cloverfield has been tapped to direct the remake. The nice part is that he seems fully aware of the fan backlash. He tells the Los Angeles Times
"There's definitely people who have a real bull's-eye on the film," Reeves said, "and I can understand because of people's' love of the [original] film that there's this cynicism that I'll come in and trash it, when in fact I have nothing but respect for the film.
I'm so drawn to it for personal and not mercenary reasons, my feeling about it is if I didn't feel a personal connection and feel it could be its own film, I wouldn't be doing it. I hope people give us a chance."
I am not sure what I think of the whole remake idea since the original film is a classic in the making. I dont see how Hollywood can do anything new with it other then 'rehash it'. Have you seen the original and are you at all interested in the sequel?
