New Season Jon & Kate Plus 8, Divorce Coming

As some of you may know this is my second post about Jon & Kate Plus 8. Those of you who read my last one will know that I am a fan of the show and was a religious watcher of the show... or should I say was. I loved the dynamic, I loved the family antics and the show was a great breath of fresh air in reality tv. Most reality TV shows are as real as Michael Bays Transformers or an episode of CSI New York and the real look at a real family struggling with 8 children was heart warming and many times... comedic. Unfortunately the new season to me seems to be no longer about the family dynamics and instead about introducing the various celebrities on the other TLC shows  and building the celebrity that  is Kate Gosselin. Gone is their simple home and simple lives and in its place are well manicured lawns, a massive estate and egos to go with it.

I really miss the earlier episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8. The bickering, the antics and the raising of their children, it always made me smile. It was real and something that I am sure I am not alone in being able to relate to.

Jon and Kate now seem to clearly hate each others guts. They no longer do their interviews together. When they are in the same episode they dont even make eye contact much less interact. The key dynamic of those show was the loveable, bitter banter between Jon and Kate which is now gone. The show worse still no longer focuses on raising children but instead is all about Kate and the stars that come onto the show.

No longer is it a family friendly reality show now instead its a big ego trip and one that I no longer enjoy to watch. Its really dissapointing to me to even write this since I was such a huge fan of the show and its real look at a struggling family. Now the family is loaded and I am unable to relate to them and worst of all the dynamic that I used to love is completely gone.

no surprise but apparently the upcoming episode is going to focus on Kate and Jon divorcing according to Radaronline. Once again I feel myself feeling badly for the children living their lives under a spotlight and bitter that Jon and Kate would use their family to do nothing but push forward their own financial gain. Those of you who do still watch the show does it still have the magic and luster you enjoyed before? Or have you never even heard of Jon and Kate Plus 8 until the recent tabloid insanity where their mugs, their cheating and their antics became a daily event in USA Today and the Gossip rags?
