Newly announced Twilight Eclipse director, David Slade, has already gotten himself into a pickle. Sometimes you have to watch what you say, no matter what the situation is, because it will likely come and bite you later on in your career. This is one of those times.

David Slade hates Twilight - But he's directing Eclipse!

David Slade's Twitter account was deleted this week, and it is obviously in response to some "tweets" he made a while back about the first Twilight movie when it was being released. At the time, I'm sure he thought it was harmless coming from an outside source, and was just speaking his mind. At the time, he didn't know he would be chosen to direct the 3rd movie in the series though...

According to horror-movies.ca, Summit Entertainment has taken the posting to be a joke, but either they or Slade have removed the Twitter Account. Obviously to protect the die-hard Twithard's that would tear him apart should they get this information.

The posting went as follows:

â€œTwilight drunk? No, not even drunk. Twilight on acid? No, not even on acid? Twilight at gun point? Just shoot me.â€

Not really what you would expect from the guy who just got awarded director rights for the 3rd installment in the series, but let's examine this.

1) It's possible that Slade wasn't a fan, but was won over by the movie after watching it, and couldn't wait to get his hands on one of the sequels.

2) Slade wants to change the direction of the series with his own version of Twilight and put his own spin on it. (This seems likely due to the cast in Eclipse having bigger household names than the previous two movies)

3) Slade did it for the benjamins ($)

I sure hope it's not just for the money, even though it makes the world go round, you hope that some people still have some integrity. Let's hope for 1 or 2, but what do you think as the fans? Which is the likely reason, or is another reason altogether?
