Marvel Looking to Hire Writers

Today Marvel announced that they are looking to hire around five writers this year to help write scripts for them. They would give each writer a basic pitch and from there the writers would go to work. This idea has been employed by Disney which has been using the program to write scripts for ABC, The Disney Channel and ABC Family.

This plan came out of the huge success that the relatively unknown comic book flick Iron Man made $582 million. Some of the characters mentioned that they would like to get off the ground include Black Panther, Cable, Vision, Nighthawk, Iron Fist and Doctor Strange.

Now Doctor Strange has been shopped around for a long time now and so has Black Panther. So I'm guessing those two characters already have an established pitch. But with over 5,000 characters as part of the Marvel stable we are bound to see a TON of new super hero movies in the future.
