Bayona Not Directing Twilight Eclipse Movie

So much for the director of Twilight being confirmed. The LA Times has a quote from the studio that debunks the earlier word that spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona would direct Twilight Eclipse;

"The 'Eclipse' directing job hasn’t been offered to Juan Antonio or anyone else. We’ve met with three or four talented filmmakers and we’ll be meeting with three or four more other candidates before we make any decision. No one has been offered the job."

You will recall that Twilight New Moon Director Chris Weitz's brother was also reportedly offered the job but who knows how much truth there is to that. Juan Antonio is a very talented director and is Guillermo Del Toros protege having directed The Orphanage.

It is worth noting however that Nicky at DeadLineHollywood FIRMLY stands behind her story and at this point it seems unclear what is true. LA Times is saying he is not directing, DeadLineHollywood is saying that he is.
