Catherine Hardwickes Newest Twilight NovelPosted by: Sheila RobertsUnless you’ve been living under a rock, most of you know by now that “Twilight” took a huge bite out of the box office with it’s record-breaking opening weekend last November and 13 weeks later has grossed nearly $358 million worldwide thanks in large part to its talented director, Catherine Hardwicke, who also helmed “Thirteen” and “Lords of Dogtown” While Hardwicke’s contribution to the Twilight franchise may have ended with the first film, we can’t wait to see her new book, “Twilight: Director’s Notebook,” published by Little, Brown and Company, which is scheduled to hit bookstores on March 17th, just days before the March 21st release of “Twilight” on DVD. “Twilight: Director’s Notebook” will retail for $17.99 and promises Twilighters an exciting look at the creative process of adapting Stephenie Meyer’s book to the big screen. The book contains everything from inside secrets on casting, location scouting and wardrobe to storyboard sketches, behind-the-scenes photographs, personal notes about Catherine’s favorite scenes and much more. Hardwicke told us recently, “With this book, I tried to show fans and future directors some of the process that the crew and I went through filming ‘Twilight.’ My challenge was to translate Stephenie’s powerful book and make you feel what she makes you feel when you read her works.” If you’re finding it hard to wait until “New Moon” hits theaters next November, then “Twilight: Director’s Notebook” may be just the ticket to tide you over. And if you can’t wait until March 17th, check out this weeks’ Entertainment Weekly, which features Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart on it cover, where you’ll find an exclusive look inside the book. Hardwicke promises us we won’t be disappointed. |
