Our collegues from WizardUniverse had the chance to talk to Rob Bowman, the director of the upcoming "Daredevil" spin off "Elektra". Bowman made his bones directing dozens of episodes of "The X Files", and he later went on to helm the "X Files" movie and the dragon movie "Reign of Fire".
WO: So just how is her character different than in the last film?
RB: Well, I think there was less required of her character-wise in "Daredevil," that movie was about Ben. But this movie is a complete investigation of her interior—and with all the cobwebs and demons and bad stuff thrown in. It really is a journey into her darkness, whereas "Daredevil" didn’t require that of her. So it’s very, very moody and dark, but I want to mitigate that by saying that what it’s about is how she reacts to a terrible situation.

WO: How has Jennifer held up under the physical and emotional stress of carrying this movie?
RB: As professionals, my job is to tell the story and Jennifer is my most important asset in doing that along with all the other actors, and the camera and editing and all that stuff. Those are all my storytelling tools, but in terms of her being a human being, she is absolutely remarkable. Her work ethic is unparalleled, she’s just dripping with talent and her desire for the whole thing to be very, very good—not just her role but the whole movie—she was a great partner.....
