DVD Details for the Friday the 13th Remake

We have a few updates for the Friday the 13th DVD release.. the remake that is. With the film just about to hit theatres we had a chance to talk to the producers who revealed the dvd release of the film will include extended scenes and more nudity. It seems they felt nudity was key to the movie but in test screenings they told us that the males under 25 did not like the nudity, but the women were ok with it. So they ended up cutting the scenes and will release them on DVD. That strikes me as very odd. Brad Fuller the producer explained it that maybe they felt uncomfortable in theatres seeing it;

We shot the movie and we do all of our nudity and we test the movie. That’s always a stressful thing. And the one thing that we felt bullet proof on was the kids were going to love the nudity in the movie. We were convinced that it was going to go over well, and the craziest thing was, the most hated thing about the movie in the first cut of the movie was that there was too much nudity. And the majority of those comments came from boys under 25 which was totally baffling, and ironically, the women had no problem with it, but boys under 25 did.

And nowadays, kids get it at home and it’s not the kind of thing that they are comfortable seeing in a room with a lot of other people. That’s my theory. So we pulled back on the nudity.

It still strikes me as very odd that female viewers were ok while males under 25 were not. Seems like the opposite of what I would expect. Also on the DVD will be an Alternate Ending according to Shock.

Friday the 13th is back and the killings are just as vicious! The camp's new owner and seven young counselors are readying the property for re-opening despite warnings of a "death curse" by local residents.
