Casshern Picked Up By DreamWorks!Posted by:Now this is some really good news. It has been reported that DreamWorks has officially announced today that they have picked up the domestic distribution rights to the film "Casshern". We are also told that the studio will likely distribute this through their "Go Fish Pictures" specialty subdivision that has released "Millenium Actress" and more recently "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence."
On side note, the deal may also include the option of DreamWorks being able to do a remake of the film, but take it only as a rumor (for now). For those who may not be familar with Casshern, here is the synopsis of the film:
"The world has taken a different path as we know it today. The great war has gone on for 50 years and the world is divided into two groups, the Republic of Asia and the European Union. After the long battle, the Republic of Asia came out as the victor and it has come to take over the Eurasian Continent. However, the only thing that came out of this was the demise of the human spirit, chemical weapons, germ warfare, viruses derived from nuclear bombs, the prognostic symptoms of radioactivity, and the razed land. Will mankind just sit there and look at the fall of its kind?"
