Twilight Director Replaced for Sequel

DeadLine Hollywood is reporting that Catherine Hardwicke the director of TWILIGHT which got mixed reviews from fans has been replaced. They quote the studio Summitt Entertainment as saying;

 "Catherine and Summit have agreed to part ways on the sequel because our visions are different." The start-up studio's hastily prepared statement (below) notes: "Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, New Moon, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen."

According to Kristin Stewart Twilight fans will not have to wait long for the next film in the franchise New Moon to being production. In an interview on Ryan Seacrest's morning show she revealed the film will begin production in March.

She also told him that since most of the book is based in Italy she fully expects to be heading there to do some shooting. Twilight made a ridiculous amount of money in its opening weekend ( 90million ) and fan reviews keep pouring in. So it goes without saying the sequel will be a hot item for Twilight fans.
