Russell Crowe to Play Robin Hood

Ridley Scott is reportedly tapping Russell Crowe to play Robin Hood. This pretty much had film bloggers around the inter-web wondering what is going on. Russell Crowe was supposed to play the Sheriff of Nottingham begging the question how does he play Robin Hood?

It would seem that in a big twist on the original film the Sheriff will in fact become Robin Hood rather then be arch-enemies. Ridley Scott is looking to take this new film in a direction and having the Sheriff also be the legendary hero is a definite twist that will make the film truly unique.
