Activision Stops Guitar Hero Movie

A couple weeks back we told you that Brett Ratner really wanted to make a Guitar Hero movie and my reaction was pretty much... say what? I couldnt fathom how on earth you could possibly turn Guitar Hero into an interesting movie. Now Brett Ratner is saying it wont happen since the game studio Activision has blocked the move. CAV quotes Brett as saying;

"I'd really like to do it, but they're not letting me," Ratner told EW. "I expressed my interest, but because it's such a success, it's like now there's no reason to make a movie about it."

The simple outline for Bretts plan for the plot was its about a kid from a small town who wins a huge Guitar Hero competition. Movie Material? I think not. Fun games dont mean fun 90minutes in a chair watching a movie about it.
