Palisades Picks up More Films

Palisades Pictures’ Chairman & CEO Vincent A. Roberti announced that its UK subsidiary Palisades Tartan UK, LLC has reached an agreement with Swedish media conglomerate Svensk Filmindustri to extend its UK distribution rights to the prestigious library of legendary director Ingmar Bergman.  The Bergman library of more than 30 films includes such classics as The Seventh Seal, Persona, Autumn Sonata, Wild Strawberries, Smiles of a Summer Night, and Scenes From a Marriage.  In addition, Palisades Tartan UK, LLC has acquired UK distribution rights to Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander, thereby completing its library of this renowned director. 

Palisades Pictures extended its international reach earlier this summer when it acquired the majority of the rights to the Tartan UK library of more than 440 films.  Mr. Roberti commented “these are uncertain times for our industry, but in that uncertainty comes many opportunities for affordable and value-added acquisitions.  Our goal is to be in the top two distributors in filmed entertainment in the United Kingdom. This acquisition opens the door to realizing that goal in the next several years if not sooner.”
