The Shield Season Six Comes to DVD

The edgy show that turned the conventional cop drama upside down returns to DVD August 26 when Sony Pictures debuts The Shield: The Complete Sixth Season. The four-disc set contains the season’s 10 episodes along with exclusive bonus features, including three all-new featurettes and deleted scenes

The Shield focuses on the tension between a group of corrupt but effective cops and a captain torn between bringing them down and advancing his own political ambitions.  Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner Michael Chiklis (Fantastic Four) stars as rogue cop Detective Vic Mackey, Emmy® nominee CCH Pounder (TV’s “ER”, “The X-Files”) as Detective Wyms, David Marciano (TV’s “Due South”, Lethal Weapon 2) as the Captain, Benito Martinez (Million Dollar Baby , Saw), Walter Googins (The Bourne Identity, Shanghai Noon), Jay Karnes (The Next Best Thing), Cathy Dent (Some One Like You…, TV’s “Taken”), and Michael Jace (Planet of the Apes, Forrest Gump).

The Shield: The Complete Sixth Season features guest stars Academy Award® winner Forest Whitaker (Last King of Scotland), Katey Sagal (TV’s “Married…with Children,” “8 Simple Rules”), and Franka Potente (The Bourne Identity). Also directing some of this season’s episodes are three-time Oscar® nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) and Emmy® nominee Paris Barclay (Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Juice in the Hood).
